Most people don't spend much time thinking about their home's insulation. Often, people avoid it, as all they think about is how much it will itch if you touch it. But insulation has a very important job - to keep the outside air temperature outside.
In the winter, insulation helps to keep your house warm, prevents heat from escaping your house and prevents the cold outside air from getting in. In the summer, it keeps that air conditioned cool air inside, and the hot humid air outside.
Good insulation will save you money every month on your energy bills. With poor or missing insulation, it's like throwing your money out the window. As air escapes and enters, your furnace and air conditioner has to work longer to maintain your ideal temperature. That means higher gas and hydro bills!
